Hit 2,000 haircuts this month and it stopped me cold

I keep a simple tally in my phone, just a number I add to after each cut. Last Tuesday I looked down and realized I was at 1,997, then by Friday I crossed 2,000. It hit me different because that's about 1,600 hours of standing over the same chair in Tulsa, and I can remember maybe a dozen faces that stuck with me. Has anyone else kept a running count like that or do you let the numbers slide?

...and honestly that reminds me of my buddy Carl who did pizza delivery for like six years and kept track of every single run in a little notebook. He hit 10,000 deliveries one rainy Tuesday and said the same thing, it just stopped him mid-slice. He told me he could barely remember half the houses, but he could describe the exact smell of one guy's porch and the dog that always barked at his car. Numbers are weird like that, they don't measure what you actually carry around with you.
