My mom told me to stop trying to grow a full vegetable garden on my 4x6 balcony
She said 'you're fighting for inches, just grow what you love.' I was so mad, but then I ripped out half my sad tomatoes and put in more herbs and flowers. How do you guys decide what's worth the space?

Fighting for inches" is so real. I only grow stuff I actually use in the kitchen now.

Wait, you only grow what you actually use? @jana_lewis16, I could never. I have a whole sad corner of weird peppers I tried one time in a recipe. They just sit there, looking at me. I'm still trying to give away ornamental gourds from two years ago. My will to grow things is way stronger than my meal planning.
