The bakery down on 5th that stiffed me on a 60th birthday cake order taught me to always get a deposit
Last month I took a rush order for a 60th birthday cake at the shop on 5th, and the customer swore up and down she'd pay the full $180 when she picked it up. She showed up, grabbed the box, and said she'd swing back with cash, then ghosted me for two weeks straight. Now I'm wondering if I'm the only one who got burned by a no-deposit order, or do you all charge half upfront no matter what?
