People in my town keep saying a 4x6 coop is fine for 10 hens, but that's just cruel.

After raising flocks in Portland for a decade, I know for a fact they need at least 10 square feet per bird outside the coop to avoid pecking and stress, so has anyone else had to argue this point with their local feed store?

My neighbor's flock got really aggressive when they were too crowded. What size run do you use for your hens?

Oh man, @the_eva, I saw that exact thing happen. Read that hens need at least 10 square feet each in the run to stay chill. Mine get about 15 and no problems.
