Honestly, my run looked like a mud pit for a year, then I put down 6 inches of wood chips last fall and now it's a dry, clean paradise. What's your best ground cover tip?

Wait, you just use any wood chips? That's a huge fire risk with some types. I had a friend who used pine chips and they basically turned into a pile of kindling after one summer. You gotta use hardwood chips like cedar or oak, something that breaks down slow and doesn't catch easy.
