Hit 50 eggs in one week and panicked - here's what happened

My 8 hens suddenly went into overdrive last Tuesday and I collected 53 eggs in 7 days. Never had that many before and my family can only eat so many omelets. What do you guys do when your girls are laying way more than you can use?

53 eggs? That's barely a problem. Wait until you hit that number in like 3 days like I did last spring when my new pullets joined the older hens. Had eggs coming out my ears for a solid month. Honestly, I just started giving them away to neighbors and coworkers. People love free eggs. You could also just let some sit in the fridge and hard boil the older ones. It's not really a crisis unless you're trying to sell them and can't keep up.

54 eggs in three days? That sounds like a small army of hens working overtime @harper_singh18. Must have felt like a full time job just cracking them all open. I'd probably start hiding them in everyone's lunch bags just to get rid of them.
