Stopped chasing wire breaks with a meter, one trick on a King Air cut my troubleshooting from 4 hours to 20 minutes
I was chasing an intermittent flap indication on a King Air 200 out of Tulsa and burned half a day ringing out a harness pin by pin with a multimeter. A retired guy named Dale showed me to wiggle the harness while watching a Fluke 1587 on min/max mode, and the resistance spiked right at a chafe point behind the aft pressure bulkhead that looked perfectly fine sitting still. Four hours of meter work turned into 20 minutes, and I have not gone back since. Anyone else got a trick that only shows up when you put your hands on the plane?
