Old lead told me I was overtesting harnesses... he had a point

I used to run continuity checks on every single pin of a 37-pin connector three times over. One Friday he pulled me aside and said 'you're costing us an hour per panel chasing ghosts.' Now I do one thorough pass and move on. Has anyone else had a lead dial back their check routine?

Hold on, are you telling me your lead actually convinced you to stop checking? How many times did you find a real fault after switching to the one pass method? I feel like that's the kind of advice that sounds good until a loose pin causes a field failure and suddenly it's your head on the block. Because in my shop, they'd rather we take an extra hour than risk a callback, so I'm genuinely curious if your lead's math actually checked out over a few months. Did you ever secretly double check one of your one-pass jobs after you left for the day, just to see?

Dakota, I secretly double checked once and found nothing, but that one time still haunts me.
