Dropped $1,100 on enclosed transport from Phoenix to Seattle and my bumper arrived with a fresh scrape
Paid extra for the enclosed trailer thinking it would keep my car safe on the 1,400 mile haul, and the driver still managed to scuff the rear bumper somewhere around Portland. The company is blaming the loading dock and offering me $150, which feels like a joke. Anyone actually get a shipper to pay up for damage without dragging it out for months?

$150 for a bumper scrape after paying $1,100? That's like getting punched in the face and being offered a band-aid. The "loading dock" excuse is the oldest trick in the book, they always blame something that isn't theirs. Here's the thing though, most of these brokers make you sign a bill of lading that basically says the car was fine when it left, so proving the scratch happened in transit is your whole battle. Take photos with a timestamp, get a body shop quote in writing, and file a claim with their insurance, not just the broker's customer service. The number on the trailer door is usually the actual carrier, bug them directly and threaten to post the quote and their response everywhere.
