Saved $220 on a Phoenix to Denver move by making 3 carriers bid against each other in one afternoon
I was getting quotes all over the place for my Subaru, ranging from $650 to $1,100, and none of them felt fair. So I called three brokers back within the same two hours and flat out said, "XYZ quoted me $720, can you beat it?" One of them dropped to $610 on the spot because they had a truck heading that route already. The trick was timing it so all three knew they were up against each other the same day, not spread out over a week. Has anyone else tried playing brokers against each other like this, or did it backfire on you?
