Pro tip: that $60 "discount" car shipping broker in Newark cost me way more than the real quote
I picked the cheapest broker I could find to move my Civic from Newark to Austin and the car sat in a lot for 11 extra days while they hunted for a driver. The "savings" turned into $180 in lot fees plus a week of renting a car, so I basically paid double what the honest quote was. Has anyone found a way to check if a broker actually has drivers lined up before you pay them?
