My $12 rubber floor mats beat the $90 custom ones I bought for my Civic and I feel dumb
Last spring I dropped $90 on those custom fit all weather mats for my Civic and within 4 months the driver side one had a curled edge that kept catching my shoe. I grabbed a $12 set of basic rubber mats at a parts store in Fresno just to get by, and somehow they have stayed flat and caught every spill from my coffee to melted snow. So is it just me or does paying more for the fancy fit actually get you nothing but a logo, and what mats are you all actually running?
So when did floor mats turn into this whole thing where we're comparing receipts and feeling dumb about a purchase? I mean, a mat's job is to sit there and take abuse, and if a $12 slab of rubber does that better than the $90 one, then the $90 one just had bad design, not a bad price. The real problem is that curled edge catching your shoe, which is a safety thing and would bug anybody. But maybe it's just me, does it really matter either way as long as your carpet stays dry? Feels like you got lucky with the cheap ones and unlucky with the fancy ones, and that's about all there is to it.
