Spent 3 hours on a customer's Tacoma at my bay in Fresno before I noticed the scratches were deeper than when I started. Went back and read the paper backing, 80 grit is for stripping paint, not smoothing it, and I felt like a fool. Boss retired 2 years ago and I never questioned him once. What grit do you all actually finish with before primer, 320 or 400?
