Just had a fender fall off mid test drive yesterday

I was taking a customer's 2013 Civic out after a quarter panel replacement on Highway 99 near Everett. Got up to about 55 mph and heard this loud pop then scraping. Pulled over and the whole passenger side fender was hanging by the inner liner. Had to call my buddy to bring zip ties and a ratchet strap so I could limp it back to the shop. Any of you ever had a panel let go on a road test like that?

You ever tried using zip ties as a permanent fix because they actually held for six months?

Whoa there, hold on. Zip ties as a permanent fix? That sounds half-baked if you ask me. A fender flying off at 55 mph could cause a serious accident, not just a headache. I'd rather spend the extra hour doing it right with proper clips and bolts than trust plastic ties for more than getting me back to the shop. You're basically gambling with someone else's safety for the sake of being lazy.
