Rant: The city's leaf pickup schedule keeps changing and nobody told us

I found out last week that Buckhead's leaf pickup moved to every other week starting in October, but the city only posted it on a page I never look at, not even a sign on the street. My neighbor and I both called 311 and got different answers, so I dug through the sanitation department's PDF from their last meeting and there it was, buried on page 14. Has anyone else had to track down these schedule changes themselves, or is there a better way people actually get notified around here?

Have you tried signing up for the city's alert texts? I had the same thing happen with my trash pickup a couple years back, and the only way I found out was a paper slip taped to the dumpster. Turns out they have a notification list but you have to opt in on the sanitation page, not the main city site. Also, check if your neighborhood has a Nextdoor group or a Facebook page, people usually post the PDF there before the city updates anything. It's annoying you gotta dig for this stuff, but once you're in the right loop it's way easier.
