My mechanic in Decatur quoted me $480 to replace a part I could see was fine through the wheel well
I was sitting in the waiting room at a shop off Ponce last Tuesday when he came out with the quote, and I walked out to the parking lot to look at my own car first. The boot on the axle was dry and clean, but he swore the whole thing was shot, so I said thanks and drove it to a guy my neighbor swears by over in Decatur. He looked at it for maybe 10 minutes, charged me $40 for the look, and said the noise was just a $12 heat shield rattle that he bent back with his hand. Has anyone else had a shop quote a big repair and then the next guy says it's basically nothing?
