I used to think a basic mower was fine for my yard in Decatur, but a wet spring changed my routine completely.

Yeah, it's funny how one season can show you what your normal tools can't handle. I've seen the same thing with my old car in winter, or even a cheap umbrella in a real storm. We buy for the average day, but it's the unusual weather that tests everything. Makes you wonder what else in the garage or house is just one bad storm away from being useless.

Ever think about how we test our gear all wrong? We wait for a crisis instead of making our own. My neighbor soaked his lawn on purpose before buying a mower, which seemed nuts. But he found out his first choice clogged in ten minutes. Now I'm eyeing my sump pump and wondering what a few buckets of water would prove.
