Tried a cheap phone mount versus a real star tracker for the first time
Last night I set up my phone on a $20 tripod mount to try and capture the Orion Nebula. The shots were just fuzzy blobs, no detail at all. Then I borrowed my friend's Sky-Watcher star tracker for 30 minutes. The difference was insane, I could actually see the gas clouds. Anyone have a good budget tracker they'd recommend under $300?

Wait, you got a decent shot of Orion with just a phone and a tracker? How many seconds were your exposures? My old camera could barely pick it up without trailing.
