Just blew $150 on a 'premium' star tracker app that promised perfect Milky Way shots

The thing crashed my phone battery in 45 minutes and the alignment was so off my Orion pics looked like abstract blurs. Anyone know a free app that actually works for basic astrophotography?

That's brutal, sorry man. I've had good luck with Stellarium for free, it's basic but gets the job done. Just make sure your location settings are right.

Yeah, the location settings thing is key. I wasted a whole evening once because I had the wrong city entered. The whole sky was just slightly off and I couldn't figure out why. Stellarium is perfect for just going outside and figuring out what you're looking at without any fuss. It does exactly what it says it will.
