Compared my first shot of Andromeda from 2019 to one I took last night, and I didn't realize how much my old gear held me back

Back then I was shooting with a kit lens on a tripod and got nothing but a fuzzy blob with star trails. Last night from my driveway in Boise I pulled out actual dust lanes in about 40 minutes of stacked frames with a cheap tracking mount. Anyone else keep their old first attempts around just to see the difference?
