PSA: My barber told me I was asking for the wrong thing for 3 years and it shows in every photo
For about 3 years I kept asking for a number 2 on the sides with a trim on top, and every cut came out fine. Last month my new barber, Marcus at a place in Charlotte, stopped me and said the sides on my head were growing in spirals around a cowlick, so a number 2 was leaving a patchy line behind my ear. He switched me to a number 3 faded down by hand and the whole cut sat flatter, plus it grew out cleaner over the next 5 weeks. Anyone else had a barber point out something about your hair you never noticed in the mirror?
Imagine going to the same barber for 3 years and he just quietly lets you walk around with a patchy spiral behind your ear like a bad lawn mower job. That man was not your barber, he was your enemy wearing an apron. Marcus is the real MVP for actually speaking up instead of just buzzing and taking your money. Makes you wonder what else people are too polite to tell us, right? Next thing you know someone's gonna say my side part has been crooked since 2019 and I'll just have to live with it.
