My flight home from Dallas got cancelled and I watched two people solve the same problem totally differently
So my flight out of Dallas got cancelled a few weeks ago thanks to storms, and the gate agent said the next open seat was in two days. This guy next to me in line started yelling at the agent, demanding a hotel and a voucher and a supervisor, and honestly he got nowhere while everyone stared at the floor. Meanwhile this woman behind me pulled out her phone, called the airline's number while she was still standing in line, and had herself rebooked on a different carrier through Denver in about 9 minutes. She told me she always calls while she waits because the phone people have seats the gate people can't see. I ended up doing the same thing and got home that night, and the yelling guy was still at the counter when I walked to my new gate. So here's my question for you all, when something goes sideways like that, do you fight it out face to face or do you quietly find another way? I honestly can't decide which approach is the right one, because part of me gets why he was mad. But I watched both play out in real time and only one of them worked. What do you all do when a plan falls apart like that?
