Visited the Cahokia Mounds site and the scale of it just... hit me different.

A buddy of mine went there last fall. He said just standing on that big mound, looking out at where the city was, made his brain go quiet. He kept picturing people walking up that same slope a thousand years ago to watch the sunrise. It wasn't like reading about it in a book at all. He said it felt heavy, in a good way, like the ground remembered.

Saw a documentary that said it was bigger than London at its peak. Really puts things in perspective.
