I was hiking near Flathead Lake last month and saw what I thought was just a cool rock, so I showed a ranger at the visitor center. He said it was a real stone point from around 1100 AD and that picking it up on federal land is actually illegal under the Antiquities Act. How do you all handle the urge to grab stuff like that when you spot it on a trail?
