Vent: a customer in Tacoma told me my pruning cuts looked like I did them with a hatchet
Had a lady stop me mid-job last month in Tacoma and say my collar cuts were too flush, that I was basically carving into the trunk on her Japanese maple. I was annoyed at first but she was right, I had been cutting 3 years without paying attention to the branch bark ridge at all. Now I slow down and leave that little collar every single time. Anybody got a good way to teach this to new guys without sounding like a jerk about it?
