I finally quit flushing my chainsaw after every use and my bar lasted longer
Everyone in my local shop swore you have to pull the bar and clean the oil port after every tank, but I ran my 261 for 8 months on just a quick wipe and the groove stayed clean. The real killer was my bar oil, I switched to the cheap stuff and gummed up two bars before I figured that out. Anyone else notice the oil brand matters way more than how often you tear it down?
Man, this hits home. I ran into the same thing with my old Husky, the cheap stuff from the box store looked fine going in but turned into glue in the groove after a few tanks. What oil did you end up switching to that fixed it for you? I keep hearing guys say brand does not matter and it is all the same base stock, but my bars say otherwise. Also curious if you are running the same mix ratio year round or changing it up in cold weather.
