Walked into a laundromat in Tacoma and saw 6 out of 10 dryers with taped-over coin slots
Stopped at a coin laundry in Tacoma while visiting my sister and counted 6 dryers with duct tape over the coin slots and hand written notes saying out of order. Owner told me he just stopped fixing them because the Whirlpool control boards run $280 each and he can't get his money back at $1.50 a load. Half the guys I know would say just swap the board and keep the machine alive, parts are parts and a working dryer is a working dryer. Other half say once those commercial units start eating boards like that, you cut your losses and pull the whole row. I get both sides but standing there looking at that tape made me wonder where the line is. What do you all do when a machine has a repair bill that's a third of what a used replacement costs?
