Showerthought: My $200 thermal camera was either a genius buy or a total waste
I picked up a cheap thermal camera last year to check for heat leaks in fridges and dryers. It helped me spot a bad compressor relay in under a minute on a job, saving a ton of diagnostic time. But honestly, I've only pulled it out maybe three times since then. For the guys who do a lot of sealed system work, maybe it's worth it, but for general calls, I'm not sure. Do you all have a special tool you bought that just collects dust?
