I used to skip the amp draw check on dryers, then a Maytag at a job in Tempe proved me wrong
For years I'd just pull the thermal fuse, test the vent, and call it done on a no heat dryer, but last month one came back to me twice and the second trip I finally clamped my meter on and saw 3.1 amps on a motor that should pull closer to 5. That low draw told me the motor was on its way out and dragging the airflow down, which is what actually killed the fuse both times. Any of you still rolling without a clamp meter on dryers, or am I the last one who had to learn this the dumb way?
