Found a weird fix for a Whirlpool washer that wouldn't drain
Customer said it was just humming, and I was about to order a new pump. On a hunch, I pulled the drain hose from the standpipe and blew compressed air back into the tub... a kid's sock shot right out. Anyone else ever clear a blockage that way instead of pulling the pump first?

Ever try the old shop vac trick on the drain hose? I got a call for a dead dishwasher and the pump was totally jammed. Hooked a vac to the drain line, heard a clunk, and a Lego piece flew into the canister. @theaellis is right, sometimes the simple fix saves you a ton of time and hassle.

Oh man, that's brilliant. I've definitely taken the whole pump apart for something dumb like that, feeling like a real pro, only to find a hair tie. Your way is way smarter, lol.
