Dropped $89 on a 'smart' diagnostic dongle that told me what my $20 meter already knew | Appliance Repairers

Bought one of those Bluetooth diagnostic tools at the supply house in Reno back in April because the rep swore it would cut my callback rate on fridges and washers. Used it on 6 jobs over 3 weeks and it just spit out the same ohm readings and error codes my cheap multimeter gives me, except it needed an app update every time and once died mid-diagnosis on a customer's kitchen floor. Anybody actually getting real use out of these things, or did I just pay $89 for a blinking LED?
