Brand new compressor failure, but I still won't buy the cheap route
Got a call last Tuesday in Columbus for a fridge not cooling. Compressor was less than 2 years old, still under warranty. Customer wanted me to swap in a rebuilt unit to save money upfront. I refused and put in a new one for $475 parts and labor. The rebuilt would have been $180 cheaper but I've seen too many of those die again in 6 months. Has anyone else stopped offering rebuilt compressors even when the customer pushes for them?
