Tossing citrus peels in my bokashi bin whole was slowing everything down
I kept wondering why my 5 gallon bokashi bucket on the balcony smelled sour after a couple weeks, and it turned out the orange and lemon peels were going in in big chunks and just sitting there while everything else broke down. Chopping them into small pieces about the size of a dime fixed it, and now the whole batch finishes in around 10 days instead of a month. Anyone else notice certain scraps need way more chopping than others?
