Bokashi bin sloshed everywhere during my 3rd week, still smells like pickles
I had the drainage spigot loose and when I tipped the bucket to pour off the liquid, it dumped all over my kitchen mat and the landlord's carpet edge in Chicago. Has anyone else had a leaky bokashi moment and figured out a better way to drain it without a mess?

Did you have the spigot at the bottom and tip it, or were you pouring from the top? What saved me after my own carpet disaster was just setting the bin up on a little plastic tray with a lip, the kind you put under a washing machine. I never tip the thing anymore. I just set a jar under the spigot and let it drain slow, and if it drips it lands on the tray, not the floor. Takes a few extra minutes but way less scrubbing. Also worth checking that little gasket inside the spigot, mine was cracked and that's why it let go in the first place.
