Walked past a $3 brass candle snuffer 4 times at the Springfield flea market and finally got it
I used to think candle snuffers were just fancy clutter for people with too many doilies. Every Sunday at the Springfield flea market I'd walk past this little brass one on a folding table, and the seller kept saying it was from the 1920s, so I kept walking. On my 5th trip she dropped it to $3 and I bought it just to end the argument with myself. Got home, lit a jar candle, and put the little bell over the flame. It went out clean with no smoke and no wax splatter on my wall. Now I own 3 of them and I actually check that table first thing every visit. What dumb little tool did you finally cave on and end up loving?
