Stumbled on a 150 year old map of my town that showed a river that doesn't exist anymore

I was cleaning out my grandpa's attic last weekend and found this old map of our county from 1870 the river it shows going through downtown is totally gone now just a dry creek bed. Has anyone else found weird geography on old maps that straight up disappeared.

You know what they say, the map is not the territory, my grandpa used to say that about a lake that just vanished one year.
