Trying to explain the plot of 'Serial Experiments Lain' to my brother took a solid four hours and I'm still not sure he gets it.

I had to draw a timeline on a whiteboard and pause the show every five minutes to answer his questions, which just kept getting more confusing as we went deeper into the wired.

Honestly, that show is a lost cause for a group watch. Next time, just tell him to watch it alone and then come back with his own messed up questions. Trying to guide someone through it in real time will just break your brain. Some media is meant to be a solo trip down the rabbit hole.

Come on, is any TV show really that deep? It's just people talking on a screen. Group watches are supposed to be fun, not some big brain event. If someone gets lost, you can just laugh it off and keep going. Making it into a solo mission seems like overthinking it.
