I was trying to explain the plot of Evangelion to my friend at a coffee shop and it went completely off the rails.

How long did it take before you mentioned the tang?

Oh, the tang is actually the easy part! The real trouble starts when you have to explain why the main character is in the hospital for the whole middle part, or what the giant naked lady in the sky at the end is supposed to be. That's where people's eyes really glaze over.
