I bought a $60 'Anime for Beginners' subscription box and it was a complete waste of money.
The box was full of cheap keychains and a single, poorly dubbed DVD of a show's third season, which made absolutely no sense without the first two, so has anyone else had a good experience with a different intro service?

That DVD thing is a real problem with those boxes. I got one from a different company that sent the second half of a movie. The real issue is that most anime is free on streaming services with ads now. Paying for a box of random stuff when you don't even know if you like the shows is a bad deal. You're better off just picking one popular starter show and watching it legally on Crunchyroll or something. Then if you like it, you can buy merch for that specific thing you enjoy.
