Old timer at the supply house told me to stop using butterfingers on latching screws
Guy named Harold who's been doing this since the 80s told me butterfingers strip out the screw heads too easy. I blew him off for like a year (you know, figured it was just old guy complaining). Then I had to drill out three stripped screws on a Vista panel last Tuesday and finally caved. Switched to a Klein precision driver set and haven't stripped a single one since. Any of you guys run into this or have other tips from the old school guys that actually pan out?

Has that been your experience too @jason11, or do you still keep a butterfinger around for certain jobs?

My buddy Mike had the exact same experience about five years back. He was wrestling with some old Siemens panel and stripped three screws in thirty minutes. He finally swapped to a Wera precision set after his coworker Dave, who's been in the trade since the 70s, told him the same thing about butterfingers being garbage. Mike says he hasn't stripped a single latching screw since, and now he won't touch a butterfinger unless he absolutely has to.
