Just learned Honeywell Vista panels can fail from lightning strikes through the phone line
Was reading a tech bulletin last night and it said 1 in 20 service calls for dead Vista 20P's are from lightning hitting the telco line, not the AC power. Anyone else run into this or just me?

Oh man, I totally used to think it was always the transformer or a bad battery that took those panels out. But I saw the same bulletin and it made me rethink everything. Now I always check the phone line voltage first after a storm, especially on the Vista 20P models with the onboard dialer. It's wild how much damage travels through that little two-wire connection.

Wait, does that bulletin actually say 1 in 20 are from lightning through the telco line? I thought it said closer to 1 in 15 for Vista 20P's with the onboard dialer. Not a huge difference, but worth double checking.
