I thought those wireless glass break sensors were just a gimmick
Had a job in a big old house with plaster walls. Client wanted sensors on every window. Running wire would have been a mess. My boss said try the wireless ones. I figured they would give false alarms all the time. Installed six of them, the kind that listen for the sound. That was three months ago. Checked in with the client last week. Not a single false alarm, and the battery report shows they are still good. Totally changed my mind for retrofit jobs. Anyone else switch over to these for older buildings?

Tbh I was the same way, thought they were junk. We put some in a brick building last year and I was sure we'd get callbacks. They've been solid for almost a year now. The tech has definitely gotten way better than it used to be. Makes those old house jobs a total no-brainer.

My old man was a carpenter and he swore by copper pipe for drains. Said plastic was junk. Now that's all we use and it never fails. It's the same with these sensors. We get stuck thinking the old way is the only right way, and miss out on stuff that actually works better now. The tech just quietly gets good while we're not looking.
