Tried a new torque seal on a Cessna 172's landing gear bolt and it peeled right off

I was working on a 172 last Tuesday and grabbed a fresh bottle of 'SureLock' torque seal from the supply cabinet. Figured I'd give it a shot since the old brand was always a bit runny. Applied it perfectly to the main gear bolt after torquing to 150 foot-pounds. Came back after the overnight test flight, and the whole stripe had lifted clean off, like a sticker. The bolt hadn't moved, but the seal was useless. Now I'm back to the old stuff. Has anyone else had a torque seal just fail to stick like that on aluminum?

Yeah that stuff is trash. Had the same thing happen on a Piper's engine mount. Switched back to the old Pro-Lok and it's been fine.

Totally agree with @luna_ramirez, that stuff is junk. What's the point if it just peels off?
