The night my air fryer saved dinner and my smoke alarm had opinions
Last Tuesday my oven died halfway through baking chicken thighs, so I grabbed the air fryer as a backup plan. I tossed in 6 thighs with some paprika and garlic powder at 380 for 22 minutes, flipping once at the halfway mark. Around minute 15 my smoke alarm started yelling because I may have overfilled the basket and grease was hitting the heating element. I opened every window in my apartment and stood there waving a dish towel like a maniac while my roommate laughed from the couch. The thighs came out crispy with charred edges but honestly better than my oven ever did them. Now I am wondering if I should just stop using the oven for chicken completely, has anyone else made the full switch after a kitchen disaster like this?
