Am I the only one who thinks frozen fries come out better in a basket-style air fryer than a flat tray
Last month I stayed at my sister's place in Sacramento and used her flat tray air fryer to make fries, and they came out pale and limp in the middle even after 20 minutes at 400. Back home my basket model with the little paddle does the same bag in 14 minutes with a real crunch, mostly because the air actually moves under the food instead of just over it. Everyone online pushes the big flat oven style for the space, but I think that space is exactly why the heat spreads thin. If you cook fries or wings more than twice a month, the basket wins in my book, and I'd like to hear from anyone who got good crisp results from a tray model. What setting did you use?
