My tiny AI script saved me 8 hours of data entry this week
I built a little python script using a free AI API to auto sort customer feedback from our contact form. It took me about an hour to set up last Sunday, and by Friday it had processed over 400 entries with maybe 90% accuracy. I still have to spot check some, but its way faster than doing it by hand. Has anyone else made little one-off tools like this for boring office tasks?

and yeah that 10% failure rate is definitely something I'd be sweating about too. the way I see it, you saved 8 hours but you also introduced 40 potential headaches down the line. one misrouted complaint could mean a customer screaming at a rep who has no idea what they're talking about, and that's just not good for anyone. I've had my own scripts accidentally tag something as "praise" when it was clearly a bug report and the whole team ended up ignoring a real issue for two days. still though, the fact you got it working at all is pretty impressive. most of my one-off tools end up in a folder called "abandoned projects" after the second bug.

Those 400 entries and 90% accuracy sound great until you realize that means 40 customers got sorted into the wrong pile. Ngl, I'm picturing some poor soul getting a follow-up email about "how was your purchase?" when they actually filed a complaint about a shipping disaster. Honestly, I love that you saved 8 hours but I'm also side-eyeing that 10% failure rate like it's going to personally haunt me. Tbh, my one-off scripts usually end up causing more chaos than they solve, so you're already winning in my book.
