My custom GPT model for local news summaries crashed after 200 users
It happened last Tuesday when a local paper in Boise linked to it. The model was fine in testing, but the sudden traffic overloaded my basic server setup. I had to quickly move it to a bigger cloud plan, which cost about $40 more a month. Has anyone else had a small project get more popular than they planned?

Yeah, that "sudden traffic" thing is a real trap. Happened to my first web app, the scaling panic is real.

Ever feel like your side project is a toddler who suddenly learned to sprint? I totally get what victor_perry90 means about scaling panic, my own stuff usually crashes long before it gets popular. At least your problem was too many people wanting to use it, that's a good kind of bad.
