I let an AI pick my fantasy football lineup for 3 weeks and it beat me every single time
I've been running my own fantasy team for 8 years and I always thought my gut was unbeatable. Back in September I got lazy during a work crunch and let one of those AI lineup tools set my starters for three weeks straight, mostly to see what would happen. It outscored my old picks by 47 points total, and it benched a guy I would have started out of pure loyalty. Now I use it as a second opinion before every Sunday, though I still overrule it when my gut screams. Has anyone else noticed these tools are weirdly good at weather and injury stuff but terrible at predicting a random Thursday night blowup?
Three weeks is barely a sample size and you probably got lucky more than the tool got smart. These things mostly just spit out the obvious chalk picks that any halfway decent manager already knows, then everyone claps when a boring safe lineup scores fine. The second you trust it in a weird week it will burn you worse than your gut ever did.
