Just found a way to fix a squeaky floorboard without pulling up the whole floor

Oh that mouse-squeak sound is the worst, right? Charlie269 is spot on about getting glue to the exact spot. My old apartment had a floorboard near the bathroom that cried like a ghost every midnight trip. You start to dread walking over it. A little targeted glue sounds way better than listening to that for years.

Heard a customer at the store say they use regular white glue for book repairs

Oh man, the acidity is bad, but the real killer is the flexibility. School glue dries into a hard, brittle film. Paper moves with humidity, it needs to bend. That rigid glue will crack and split the spine or page right along the glue line. You're basically putting a sheet of plastic in there that can't move with the book. I've seen old repairs where the glue itself is fine, but it acted like a tiny saw and cut clean through the paper over time.

Met a guy at a con who organizes his game collection by 'emotional weight'

Honestly that's a pretty solid system, my shelf is just a guilt trip in physical form. I keep the games I actually finish on the top where I can see them, and the ones I bought on a whim are hidden behind the couch. It's less about organizing and more about managing shame.

I finally listened to my mechanic friend insist you should always use jack stands even for a quick tire change, and I think that's overkill for a simple flat on level ground.

My uncle in Akron had the same thing happen with his truck.

A week of wall-to-wall work on a single Winchester Model 70

My grandpa's old shotgun, @perez.mia, has a dent from a truck tailgate.
