Check every zipper before hauling a curb find into your car
Pulled a nice Jansport backpack off a pile in Pasadena last Tuesday. Looked clean. No stains. Grabbed it and tossed it in my trunk. Got home and found a dead rat inside the main pocket. Not even a bag or anything. Just sitting there. Must have crawled in while it sat out overnight. Took me an hour to stop gagging and deep clean my trunk. Now I unzip everything at the curb. Even pockets. Even if it looks empty. You never know what nested in there. Anyone else had wildlife surprises in curb furniture or bags?
